MCA ENTRANCE NOTIFICATION


 NIMCET 2012

Admission for M.C.A. 2012

Testdate:20th May, 2012 (Sunday)        Timings: 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon

Eligibility: Indian Nationals securing 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA (55% marks or 6.0/10 CGPA for SC, ST category) in

(i) 12th (i.e. 10 + 2) level or equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects at either 10+1 or 10+2 level or at both the levels

and

Qualifying Degree@ - Bachelor’s Degree of Full time* 3 year or more duration from a recognized University with at least one of the following as a chosen subject of study:

Mathematics, Statistics, Business Mathematics, Business Statistics, Discrete Mathematics, Mathematical Foundations of Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Elementary Mathematics, Elementary Statistics

are eligible to apply for NIMCET-2012

The percentages of marks in 10+2 and qualifying degree are to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in all the subjects (including optional subjects, if any ) studied.

* Students who have completed/completing qualifying degree (programme of three year or more duration) from Open Universities as eligible to apply provided their programme is approved by UGC or AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

@ The candidates who are appearing for all the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for NIMCET-2012. Such candidates shall have to furnish the the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET-2012 preferably at the time of Counseling/Admission but not later than 31st August, 2012, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled by the respective NITs.

Important features regarding applying for NIMCET through online, syllabus for the test, test centers, rank card, admission procedure, list of participating institutes with total number of seats with seat distribution , contact addresses, admission schedule are given in this brochure. Candidates are advised to read this brochure and visit our website http://nimcet2012.nitw.ac.in regularly for updates till the end of counseling.

NOTE: This is tentative list of test centers. If enough number of candidates do not opt for a particular centre that centre will be cancelled and then center chosen as second choice will be allotted automatically.

Process of Admission:
The entire process that a candidate has to undergo, consists of six stages:

  1. Applying Online and posting hard-copy with enclosures:
    In this stage, all eligible candidates should create login and password by registering themselves in the website http:// nimcet2012.nitw.ac.in between 06-02-2012 to 02-04-2012. Then fill the online application form made available in the website after obtaining DD for processing fee, scanned copy of their latest passport photo, signature before 09-04-2012. Take hard-copy of electronically submitted online form and post it with all enclosures stated in this brochure so as to reach Secretary on or before 16-04-2012
  2. Writing NIMCET-2012 TEST:
    Download the admit card between 07-05-2012 to 19-05-2012 and write the NIMCET-2012 test which is scheduled to be conducted on 20th May 2012 (Sunday) between 10.00 A.M and 12.00 noon at various test centers. Candidates should present in the examination hall of the test center allotted before 9.15 am on 20th May, 2012. Detailed Syllabus and test pattern is given in this brochure.
  3. Choice filling and locking:
    Candidates will be awarded with NIMCET-2012 rank on or after 05-06-2012 and they have to take print out of their rank card made available in the website. Candidates who got rank can login and fill the choices of participating institutes in their order of preference between 12-06-2012 to 18-06-2012. They can modify these choices or reorder them any number of times. However, they have to lock their choices on or before 5 pm on 18-06-2012.
  4. Online Seat Allotment and personally reporting at a remote/participating institute:
    Candidates will be offered seats based on their choices in the order of merit over four rounds of allotment. Candidates who are allotted a seat (i.e. offered provisional admission) must report to any one of the participating institute which ever is nearer to his residence (reporting at such institute is called hereafter remote reporting) during the dates specified in this brochure against each round of reporting, get the documents verified and pay the initial fee to mark their acceptance of the offered seat and give option (upgrade option in case a seat is upgraded in second/third round of allotment) in option form. They will also be issued a provisional admission letter.
  5. Getting Admitted to Allotted Institute:
    After the fourth round of allotment, i.e. between 10-07-2012 to 12-07-2012, candidates are required to physically present at the latest allotted institute for registration.
  6. Spot allotment round:
    After fourth round of reporting, vacant seats in various Participating NITs will be published in the website http://nimcet2012.nitw.ac.in on 23-07-2012. If any candidate who has already got admitted in any NIT wishes to apply for these vacant seats, he/she has to apply for cancellation of admission to the seat and fill the choices afresh through that NIT. Candidates who were not allotted seat in any first through fourth round of allotment are also eligible for spot allotment, but such candidates also need to fill the choices afresh again.

Web Enabled On-Line Application Form:
Eligible candidates are required to fill-in web enabled on-line application forms from any place of their convenience. Candidates are required to create user login Id and password for themselves and use the same, as and when required. Candidates are not permitted to create multiple Id’s.
Login id must be a string containing at least six alphanumeric characters with first two and last two characters are alphabets. No special characters are allowed.
Password: Password must be a string containing at least five alphanumeric characters. No special characters are allowed.

Important Note:

a) Read carefully the instructions to fill in online application form as described in section 6.0. in this brochure.

b) They are also required to take hard copy (a print out) of the electronically submitted online application and send it by speed post/registered post/by hand to the following address along with copies of mark-sheets and pass-certificates of SSC/10th class, 12th class and Bachelor Degree along with a Demand draft worth of Rs. 1500/- for open / OBC category and Rs.750/- for SC/ST category drawn in favor of “NIMCET-2012” payable at Warangal.

Applications should reach by speed-post or registered-post or by hand on or before 5pm on 16th April, 2012

Processing Fee:

The processing Fee for NIMCET-2012 test and counselling for admission to the MCA programme is Rs.1500 /- for OPEN/OBC category and Rs. 750/- for SC/ST category candidates. Candidates have to take Demand Draft for an appropriate amount relevant to their category. Demand Draft must be drawn in favor of “NIMCET-2012”, payable at Warangal.

Candidates are required to write their name, address and Mobile/Phone Number and NIMCET-2012 Application Number generated, on the reverse side of the Demand Draft.
