• Selling of Application Form and Information brochure will start from 16 June 2014 to 30 June 2014.
• Last date for receipt of duly filled in application form by Speed Post at Board’s Office is 05 July 2014.
• Download of Admit Card will start from 15 July 2014.
• Expected Dates for Publication of Result is 30 July 2014.

WEST BENGAL JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS BOARD

AQ - 13/1, SECTOR –V, SALT LAKE CITY,

JECA - 2014, the Joint Entrance Examination for admission to Master of Computer Application (MCA) course in West Bengal for the academic session 2014-2015 will be held on Saturday July 19, 2014.

Application Form, Bank Challan and other related information for the said Entrance Examinations can be downloaded from 16.06.2014 to 30.06.2014 from the official website of JECA www.wbjeeb.in .

Duly filled in Bank Challan along with Rs. 500/ - plus Rs. 6/ - (as Bank Charge) for each examination is to be deposited in any of the following branches of ALLAHABAD BANK in CASH on all working days. A printed copy of Information Brochure for the examination applied for can be collected from the Bank Branch wherein the amount is deposited. Duly filled in Application Form should reach the  Board’s office by Speed Post/Private Courier/Hand on or before 05.07.2014.Admit Cards for eligible applicants for the aforesaid  examinations will be available at www.wbjeeb.in for downloading from 15.07.2014 till the day of the examination.

PATTERN OF QUESTION AND SYLLABUS of JECA - 2014

PATTERN OF QUESTION AND SYLLABUS of JECA - 2014:

There will be two papers the examination:

Part-I :Mathematics (100 marks):

50 MCQS (each bearing 2 marks will have to be answered on OMR sheet provided.

Marking must be made with black/blue ball point pen. 2/3 marks will be deducted

for each wrong answer and marking at more than one option will be considered as

wrong answer.

Time :Two Hours.

Syllabus:

 

(i) Analytical Geometry: Cartesian and polar coordinate, straight line; circle;

Ellipse: Parabola‘, Hyperbola; Translation & Rotation of axes.

(ii) Algebra : Complex number; De Moivers theorm. Solution of linear

equations, Determinants. Matrices, Summation of signal series. Addition at

vectors, Scalar and Vector products. Inequation. Sets and elements,

Universal set. Empty set. Subsets. Venn diagram, Union and Intersection of

sets. Complements, Algebra of sets, Finite sets, Class of sets, Partitions,

Cross product, Group,Ring and Field.

(iii) Calculus : Limit, Continuity, Differentiation; Maxima & Minima, Taylor & Maclaruin's Series; Definite and Indefinite integrals; First and Second order differential equation; Functions of several variables; Partial differention.

(iv) Probability & Statistics : Permutation, Combination; Probability; Probability distribution; Mean; Median; Mode; Standard Deviation; Correlation coefficient.

Paper -II : Aptitude test (100 marks): 

There will be 30 questions of 3 marks each and 10 questions of 1 mark each. For each wrong answer, 1/3rd of the total mark(s) alloted to the question will be deducted. Marking Must be made with black/blue ball point pen. Marking of more than one option for a question will be considered as wrong answer.

All questions will be MCQ type and to be answered in OMR Answer Sheet.

Time : One hour.
